Inlays are used to restore a tooth when a substantial portion has been lost due to
decay or mechanical damage. The cavity is prepared, removing all the damaged tooth tissue, an impression recorded and a temporary covering placed. The inlay is fabricated in the laboratory. Inlays may be created in gold, ceramic reinforced polymers or cast ceramics. The final restoration is placed with a bonding resin. The treatment is normally carried out three visits and the fees range from £400 according to the material selected. |
