Inlay inserted

Inlays are used to restore a tooth when a substantial portion has been lost due to decay or mechanical damage.
In large restorations, direct white filling materials may not possess the mechanical properties to cope with the stresses of normal biting function.

The cavity is prepared, removing all the damaged tooth tissue, an impression recorded and a temporary covering placed. The inlay is fabricated in the laboratory. Inlays may be created in gold, ceramic reinforced polymers or cast ceramics. The final restoration is placed with a bonding resin.

The treatment is normally  carried out three visits and the fees range from £400 according to the material selected.
