Endodontics or root canal treatment is required where the dental nerve is dead or infected. As shown in the diagram above, the root canal is cleaned, prepared and root filled with a material to prevent infection. The tooth may be finally restored with a normal filling, an inlay or crown.

Root canal treatment can take around 4 visits.
